Bricycles

The Brighton, Hove and District Cycling Group.

Bricycles campaign for the continuing development of better conditions for cyclists including safe, direct and convenient cycle facilities, on and off highways. They promote cycling as a healthy and enjoyable form of transport for business or leisure and as an environmentally friendly alternative to private motor transport; they encourage co-ordination and co-operation with and between public services such as buses and trains. Bricycles also represent the views and interests of cyclists at local and national level or through the media, assist with events and co-operate with other bodies that promote similar aims (e.g. marshalling, affiliations), and support members by providing information (e.g. newsletters, Cycle Line), organising social events and rides and facilitating other useful services (e.g. 3rd Party insurance, discounts).

 Bike Week

A national celebration of freedom, Bike Week is an annual opportunity to promote cycling as a source of fitness and fun. Up and down the country, thousands of free cycling events will provide the opportunity for everyone from total novices to passionate cyclists to get on their bikes.

CSS is a not-for-profit organisation (incorporated in 1999) dedicated to promoting and managing better cycling for all.  In this capacity, CSS works mainly to arrange cycle rides for groups supporting British registered charities. Most of the company's work is in the south of England and adjacent France.

Capital to Coast, in its 13th year, is a charity bike ride which supports four wonderful charities - Norwood, Sparks, The Downs Syndrome Association & Southern FM's Help A Local Child.   The ride starts either at Esher College (60 mile) or Haywards Heath (30 mile) and finishing with a heroes welcome at Hove. The ride is not a race and you will have time to take in the beautiful surroundings.

The British Heart Foundation's vision is of a world in which people do not die prematurely of heart disease.  They hope to achieve this through pioneering research, vital prevention activity and ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease.  You can help their plight by entering one of their sponsored events.
